We offer two types of UV-activated resin:
Unsaturated Polyester Resin (UP Resin) – This is the most common UV-cured resin, and is a lower-cost option. UP Resin exhibits good general characteristics, and is used in 95% of liner installations. It does contain styrene when uncured, so may not be appropriate for environmentally sensitive locations. It has moderate chemical resistance, but may not be suitable for certain contaminated situations. Consult with our technical experts if you have questions about the suitability of UP Resin for your particular project.
Vinyl-Ester Resin (VE Resin) – This type of resin does not contain any environmentally hazardous or volatile chemicals, making it suitable for both contaminated and sensitive locations. It is also much more chemical-resistant, making VE Resin the ideal choice for high-demand applications. However, it is approximately two times the cost of UP Resin.
